The Hog by Crampton Baits is the essence of true lure master craftmanship.
The straight runner design is a classic in old-school lure making and for a reason. It’s been proven one of the most effective lures for over four decades when targeting Blue Marlin, Black Marlin or Striped Marlin.
Originally designed and made by Scott Crampton, a legendary Captain on the Hawaiian charter boat scene, this lure has been producing results for anglers worldwide for decades. In 2020, Scott passed away. But before Scott parked his sportfisher in the marina and placed his rod in the rod holder one last time, he passed the keys to the kingdom to his son Brian. Brian now expertly crafts all of the Crampton Baits with the care, knowledge and expertise that was handed down from Scott.
Brian crafts all Hogs using real Mother-Of-Pearl shell. Some lures use a huge SLAB(!!) of shell while others are more delicate by just using crushed shell expertly placed on the insert before pouring. These lures are genuinely handled by Scott at every step to ensure his fathers meticulous are maintained.

The Hog is available in all the head designs shown on this page and in all of the TIAMAT Lures skirt colour scheme combinations.
All Hog lures feature crimp locks to ensure you can troll your lure to its optimum level.
While the Hog does perform exceptionally well in several trolling positions, sea conditions alter and boat configurations vary widely. Try the Hog first in the Long Corner or Long Rigger position.
