The 1/4 Tonner by Brian Crampton takes lure making into another dimension.
The shortened head is a variation of the classic Hawaiian tube design. This model is used by professionals and tournament anglers worldwide.
BTS requested some specific head colour designs from Brian. As expected, the results were better than we could have hoped for. Superb clarity, Mother of Pearl Slab or shattered Mother of Pearl, perfectly balanced. We are very proud to make these unique lures available to our customers worldwide.
HEAD DESIGNS
Bloodmoon: This head design features sections of brilliant white MOP on a sparkled black background with a deep black top tint section and to complete the design, a bright red stripe. The eye is handmade by Brian and has silver glitter throughout the pupil.
Aussie: A must for the connoisseur and anyone who trolls where Mahi Mahi are targeted by big Blue, Black and Striped Marlin. This head colour scheme is dazzling in the water and is a true work of art.
Patriot: This is a classic colour scheme and features a Slab of stunning white MOP matched with a blue top tint and red stripe.
Mrs Crampton: Beautiful, delicate, divine. A stunning bright fluoro pink insert covered with crushed MOP makes for one the most stunning lures ever created. A must for any lure collector.
Originally designed and made by Scott Crampton, a legendary Captain on the Hawaiian charter boat scene, this lure has been producing results for anglers worldwide for decades. In 2020, Scott passed away. But before Scott parked his sportfisher in the marina and placed his rod in the rod holder one last time, he passed the keys to the kingdom to his son Brian. Brian now expertly crafts all of the Crampton Baits with the care, knowledge and expertise that was handed down from Scott.
Brian crafts all 1/4 Tonner using real Mother-Of-Pearl shell. Some lures use a huge SLAB(!!) of shell while others are more delicate by just using crushed shell expertly placed on the insert before pouring. These lures are genuinely handled by Brian at every step to ensure his fathers meticulous expectations are maintained.

All 1/4 Tonner lures feature crimp locks to ensure you can troll your lure to its optimum level.
While the 1/4 Tonner does perform exceptionally well in several trolling positions, sea conditions alter and boat configurations vary widely. Try the 1/4 Tonner first in the Long Corner or Long Rigger position.
